Description

• From election year 1972 … over 50 years ago … these are flyers distributed to college newspapers to promote the presidential campaign of Senator George McGovern and end the war in Vietnam. • The first flyer features a cartoon representation and graphic attack on Richard Nixon and his 1968 campaign quote : "Those who have had a chance for four years and could not produce peace should not be given a second chance". Flyer shows some fading typical of paper this old along with a few thumbtack holes at the top where it was apparently displayed on a college bulletin board. See photos. • The second flyer is from the San Diego Convention Coalition, an anti-war, anti-Nixon group, along with a copy of the Citizen’s Committee for the Three-Point Peace Proposal and a listing of anti-war movement speakers (including Abbie Hoffman, Tom Hayden, William Kunstler, Bobby Seale, etc.) available to appear on college campuses. The stapled flyers are in good condition. See photo. • Offers accepted and questions gladly answered. • Great collectibles from a turbulent and pivotal time in US political history.
