Description

An original Black Panther Party flyer calling out infamous Philadelphia Police Commissioner Frank Rizzo for the shootings of two black men, Harold Brown and James Hamilton. 8 1/2" x 11", one page. Great graphics and pointed text; a superb example of what 1970s Black radicals faced. Good to Very Good condition as shown with typical vintage tanning. Frank Rizzo (1920-1991) was appointed commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department from in 1967. His men brutally beat Black public high school students staging a walk out, planted dynamite during a raid on the SNCC, strip-searched Black Panther members in front of newspaper photographers, and more. Amidst demonstrations and calls for his firing, he not only kept his position as commissioner but was elected mayor of the city, serving from 1972-1980. A superb piece of history and an awesome addition to any collection. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed.
