Description
Size: Large-Regular This nomex shirt is attributed to career Army pilot Robert 'Bob' T. Brafford. Brafford served multiple tours in Vietnam between 1964-1968. It displays originally applied insignia, including 1st Cavalry Division SSI and Vietnamese-made tapes, and was found in a larger grouping of items that all belonged to the retired Major. Units he served with include the 145th Airlift Platoon (1964-1968), 11th Combat Aviation Group (1967-1968), and 242nd Assault Helicopter Support Company (1968). His personal callsigns were 'Mardi Gras' while serving with the 145 Airlift Plat. and 'Muleskinner 5' while serving with the 242nd AHSC. Brafford was awarded the US Army Distinguished Flying Cross twice during his tours in Vietnam, which I've also attached descriptions of. It's truly a historic piece for any collection. Contract Date: 1971
